Who doesn't want to save money? Here are some quick tips to help you save money with Solar.
Run appliances during daylight hours.
Putting on washing machines, dryers, dish washers and pool pumps during the day keeps these energy hungry critters fed while the sun is out. This means the solar panels are pumping and will lighten the load during night time. Charging phones and running slow cookers will make sure all of your gadgets are charged and dinner is cooked without blowing the budget.
Check your home for obstructions of light.
Make sure shade isn't blocking any of your solar panels. Trees, antennas and roof ventilators, etc. will block the sun off your panels and waste solar energy. Also, make sure your panels are clean and free from dust or foreign matter so you are getting full capacity of your solar panels.
Turn of non essential power points when not in use.
Turning off appliances and power points when not in use save a considerable amount of electricity. Installing motion sensor to control your lights helps with this job. Air drying laundry when you can is a huge help to saving energy as dryers are one of the most expensive appliances to operate, using a clothesline or clothes rack to dry naturally when you cant use solar.
Check your air conditioner temperature.
Set the temperature on your air conditioner between 24 and 25 degrees. Setting the air conditioner one degree higher than you normally would can cut cooling cost by 10 percent.
Use less hot water.
When washing dishes, rinse them with cool water and only use the dishwasher when it is full. Most modern dishwashers have a timer that you cant set, so pop the timer on before you head out for the day and get your dishes washed by solar power.
